Who We Are
ICDC College Military/Veteran Student Association (ICDC MVSA) is a volunteer student-run organization established to provide its members with the opportunity to support veterans, military service members and their families. The ICDC MVSA provides these opportunities by participating in a number of community outreach initiatives and social events on and off campus to support those who have served, or are presently serving, our country. In addition, the ICDC MVSA provides student members a forum for building an internal network that can enhance their personal and career growth while they pursue an advanced education.
The ICDC MVSA is a chapter member of the Student Veterans of America, whose goal it is to ensure that all veterans are successful in their transition from combat to the classroom. Please visit http://www.studentveterans.org for more information about the SVA.
Our Mission
The ICDC College Military/Veteran Student Association is committed to providing opportunities for members to host and participate in a number of social events and community outreach efforts as a way of showing our respect and appreciation for all veterans, military service members and their families. The ICDC College MVSA partners with and supports our local and national veterans groups, organizations and foundations through a variety of efforts including, but not limited to:
- Fundraising
- Sponsorships
- Letter Writing Campaigns
- Donations
- Organizing “Support our Troops” Care Packages
- Initiating “Spread the Word” campaigns about Veteran concerns and community efforts
- Participating in local “Stand Downs” benefiting homeless veterans
