How the Military Spouse Scholarship and MyCAA Work:
Spouses are often the unsung heroes of the Military community. While Service Members are on duty or abroad, their spouses are often left behind, responsible for managing the home, raising the children, and taking care of all things domestic. It is common for spouses to do this alone, and this often leaves little money for educational advancement. However, this doesn’t mean that money isn’t available.
The Department of Defense, through its Spouse Education and Career Opportunities Program, created MyCAA, which provides up to $4,000 in tuition money that can be used over a two year period. However, what if a spouse’s dream program costs more than that? Should they be penalized because they can’t afford the future they believe their family deserves? ICDC College doesn’t think so. That’s why the school created a scholarship for MyCAA-eligible individuals. After Military spouses have applied their MyCAA funding to one of ICDC’s Certificate programs, the Military Spouse Scholarship can be used to cover the remainder of the tuition balance. ICDC College is proud to have a combination of Military Spouse Scholarship and MyCAA funding to help Military spouses afford any of ICDC’s Certificate programs.
What is MyCAA1:
The program is short-hand for My Career Advancement Accounts. MyCAA benefits help qualified Military spouses afford associate degrees, certifications, or licensures. Military spouses may also use MyCAA funding to earn credentials. MyCAA is a part of the Department of Defense’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities Program.
Spouses can earn up to $4,000 for a two year program, or a max of $2,000 for one year***. MyCAA funding may also be used to cover Continuing Education Units, GED courses and ESL classes. Additional conditions to the program may apply. Please check the official MyCAA website for details, or contact ICDC College’s Military Division for assistance by calling (888) 498-4232.
All of ICDC’s programs are approved to have MyCAA funding applied to the tuition.
